Cummins QST30 1000kw generator radiator Cooling Systems recently had a data center client in need of fast replacement for a Cummins QST30 1000kw generator radiator. This is a unique Cummins cooling module as the aftercooler and the Jacket water radiator both have some of the largest single cores in the industry. While many factories do not have the machinery and fixtures necessary to produce cores this big, CSC has been investing over the last few years for just such an occasion Knowing our customer could not have any downtime, we offered them a solution where we would produce the cores prior to removing the unit from service. This would allow CSC to completely rebuild the Cummins QST30 Radiator (Jacket Water) and Aftercooler in one day. However, we were surprised that our customer told us that this was not acceptable. Recently one of our client’s Cummins DFCE 300kw generator was suffering from radiator core failure. They needed extremely fast generator radiator field service. Having tenants operating in the building with sensitive equipment, they could not risk being without power. They contacted us looking for the absolute fastest service and we responded that we can provide emergency weekend generator radiator field service in Puerto Rico. Our field technician identified the Cummins radiator and verified that we have the data and drawing of the Cummins DFCE radiator. The core was manufactured and taken to the site. The technicians replaced the core and had the generator running back again by Sunday. The client was thrilled with our fast turnaround time and our availability to work on the weekend.
